When someone close to you has Huntington’s disease, you may experience that the person begins to change as the disease progress. Sometimes symptoms include mood swings, irritability, apathy, depression, anger or aggression.

In this webinar we will learn more about typical cognitive changes in Huntington’s disease and how you can cope with them as a close friend, relative, child or partner. The topic will be discussed from both a personal and professional point of view.

Eirin Bruholt has a mother with Huntington’s disease and experienced how the disease progressed over time. During the webinar she will share her own experiences and how she coped with them.

 

 


 

Filipa Jùlio is a psychologist and has been a board member of the European Huntington Association since 2016. She will talk about cognitive changes from a professional point of view and share her best tips on how to deal with changes.

In this webinar physiotherapist Stella van der Niet will tell us more about physical activity and Huntington’s disease. She will also give us some really good exercise tips.

In recent years, several physical activity interventions have been conducted with people who have Huntington’s disease. The results have shown several benefits of being active:

– Ability to walk further and faster
– Prevention of stress and aggression
– Reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety
