The 1st Huntington’s Disease Association conference in the Middle East will take place in Cairo, Egypt.

The programme is specifically designed as a global overview of Huntington’s disease (HD), providing information about the symptoms, signs, the worldwide prevalence, updates in diagnosis and treatment. This meeting is mainly directed to physicians who are concerned with the disease care (Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Physiotherapists, Geneticists, Speech therapists, Nutritionists) and other interested health professionals.

The aim is to raise awareness about the disease in the Arab world and provide necessary information.

Behind the conference is Shaimaa El-Jaafary (picture, 4th from the left). Shaimaa currently works at the Department of Neurology, Cairo University. She’s been working hard to establish a Huntington’s Disease network for researchers and family members in the Middle East.
