Behind the lyrics
– When I was collecting ideas for the song, I found out that “HD” was an abbreviation for a star catalogue
as well as Huntington’s disease, Olivia told EHA in September.
From Olivia Sawano: The North Star, also known as Polaris, is the brightest star in the constellation of Ursa Minor. It marks the end of the Little Dipper’s handle and almost lies in a direct line above the North Pole which makes it the anchor of the northern sky. It has also been a symbol for inspiration and hope in different cultures. HD 8890 refers to The Henry Draper star catalogue which is an old astronomical star catalogue giving spectroscopic classifications for over 200000 stars.
